I agree, and this is why I support Red Hat, and keep buyinh their 
distributions.
I think they should have emphasized the fact that it's not backward 
compatible.

Come on, money is not the issue here. I spend thousand on software and 
hardware (more on hardware, though) and I'll be happy to spend much more
for stuff that I use. The probelm is *the time* spent to order, read, 
install, try, read again, try some more, search usenet, send messages to 
various mailing lists, get answers and pointers, read new stuff, ask more 
questions, get more answers, start to understand the answers, and then 
realize that I need to throw it all away, find an older distribution and 
start all over again.
Now, do you really think that the $50 are the story ?
