I think using new, _non-standard_ format of batteries for [almost] every
new model is a crime against humanity.
I am glad that almost all DSLRs (except the first 2 or 3?) from Pentax are
at least using the same battery format.
Those 2CR5's were a pain. I was glad that *istDS could take AA's as well.
I had 2CR5 as an emergency spare in the bag, but I was using AA's most of
the time.
Remember how it used to be in late 90-s - earlier 2000's, - that every new
cell phone had a different charger? I am glad that it was narrowed down to
two formats (micro-USB and recently, USB-C), or three-and-a half, if you
count that odd-ball called Apple, that couldn't implement even micro-USB
the same way as the rest of companies did.
I don't remember all the details, but I believe, credits go to EU for
demanding a unified charging format from the cell phone manufacturers.

I am glad we can multiplex chargers between all our phones and tablets,
and I need only two types of USB cables for that. (Until last year, it was
only one format, but than 3 new devices had USB-C, which seems to be
much better, especially since there is no "up" and "down" on the
connector.
On this "high note..."...
Cheers,
Igor

What I could really use is an effective alternative to disposable 2CR5
batteries for the PZ-1p.
