I've been watching the story of Draken Harald Harfagre virtually since conception. Built on authentic principles, so it flexes over waves rather than cutting through; apart from a (very) few nods to modernity (an engine, some nav aids and locators) it's pretty much as it would have been a millenium ago. A tent of the deck for shelter, one sail, steered with an oar in the water.
Last year it sailed to Liverpool from its home in Haugesund. This year, across the Atlantic via Shetland, Faroes, Iceland and Greenland. I keep hoping to see it float into Lindisfarne harbour but I think they are chicken.
