They might have hoped for that response, but to make business plans
based on it would have been risky - far too risky, in my opinion.

After all, the PZ-1p and the MZ-S were both fine cameras; far better
than any of the competition at the same price point. But if Pentax
had planned on selling those in breakthrough numbers we wouldn't be
arguing today - Pentax would have gone belly-up.

I'm only too happy the K10D is selling as well as it is, even if it
might mean a few people have to wait a week (although as the camera
seems to be in stock at B&H and Adorama, even that seems unlikely).
