Honestly, I don't think I'd consider a K1D without an aperture 
simulator. I'm not paying $2000CDN+ (I expect a K1D will come in 
somewhere between the Nikon D200 and D2X in price) for a body that lacks 
full compatibility with K mount glass (same reason I would never have 
bought a Nikon D100 at its launch cost, and would never have bought the 
*istD at its original cost).

A sub-$1000 body is a different matter, at least with DSLR's. Corners 
will get cut and the green button button hack is an acceptable corner to 
cut for me, even though I use K/M glass heavily.
