I bought one for BO printing using Eboni Black ink from MIS Associtaes
(http://www.inksupply.com/). I found the Epson black ink had a slightly bluish tinge to it, while the Eboni black is black :)

I'm printing on Epson Enhanced Matte, which is not archival quality,
more than meets my needs, and is quite inexpensive..

I also have an Epson R300 which I use for colour priting, which happily,
uses the same cartridges as the R220 so I acquired a spare set with my R220 purchase. I generally print colour on Epson Premium Lustre paper.
