I just received my DS. and will exercise it this weekend. But from my film experience, I have the Sigma 70-300 APO and like it very much. It does have it's drawbacks, notably it is big and heavy and physically very long at 300 mm. This also has macro focusing on it if you are taking pictures of relatively small objects full frame.

My question is what is my next lens for the DS. I have the FA 20-35 /f4 and love it but I have lost those gorgeous scenics that endeared the lens to me. I have the FA 28-80, but from the remarks, might trade it for the FA 28-105. I guess I have to wait for a 10 or 12 mm zoom. and wait and wait.

Isn't that 50-200 a little long on the short end for the normal walk-around on a Digital?

28-105/3.2-4.5?
