Based on the info on Bojidar's page it is tempting to assume that it is
the same optically as the 1st FA version I mentioned. Like I said, that
variant has the "power zoom" feature, and I can imagine that some people
consider it as pretty crappy based on that alone. It makes the lens
seem, well, not very well assembled, to use a mild expression. Or at
least that's true for the similarly-looking 28-80.
