Last air show I shot at I had a 70- 210mm Zoom and carried a vivitar 2x macro focusing extender, just in case. For a number of shots that combination wasn't long enough.I kept wishing I'd brought my 300mm, (and it still wouldn't have been long enough). On the other hand you will also find yourself wishing for a wider lens say 35mm maybe even a 28 or 24mm as well.

I think the split-screen is bad enough with a long lens; if you also do stop-down metering it could be very difficult.

I doubt 200 will be long enough, but I haven't done airshows, so...
