You can  - either by chaeting the ASA (half the ASA number) or by turning
the Exposire compensation dial to 2x.
This should compensate for the bright sky/background.

Alex, based on my experience at Farnborough and Biggin Hill, a 135 or
thereabouts is pretty handy, as the aircraft will be flying fairly low
generally.  A 200 will get you even closer, but may be too close for some
shots.  I would also advise setting the exposure for at least one stop more
than indicated (if you can on the ME Super - I can't recall!), as the
underside of aircraft is often fairly deeply shadowed.
