I got my DS about a month ago, and I'm really happy with it. I
actually spent a fair amount of time debating whether to get it or
wait until I've saved up sufficient $$ for a D (coming from a PZ-1).

In the end, I saw a great on-line deal at Henry's and I jumped on it,
figuring if I really didn't like the handling I could return it with
their 15 day cash back policy. (Plus the fact that it took me almost a
year to save enough for the DS, I don't think I could wait that long
to save up the additional amount for a D).

It would be incredibly hard to go back to exclusively film again. I
*love* the histogram (ok, this is on most digital cameras). Other
awesome features of digital land are the sensitivity (iso) and white
balance adjustments.

I find it handles quite well. I use it mostly in Av mode, with
occasional forays into Manual, and Program modes. Exposure
compensation is easy to dial in.

Couple things I would have liked better on the DS.(which I would have
had with the D).
- Ability to go to spot meter without scrolling through menus.
- HyperProgram (again, only because I have the PZ-1).

The one thing which I am really having difficulty with (with Digital),
it the smaller sensor size. This is totally screwing me up in terms of
which lens to use where.
The perspective for the lenses are the same (as 35mm), but the
coverage is smaller. Hence if I want the effect and coverage of a 28mm
lens, I can't get it. I can use the cheap kit lens I got with the
camera, to get the coverage, but the perspective is different, or I
can use my FA28-70/4 to get the perspective, but I don't get the
coverage.
I have found thus far, that I'm using the wider lenses more than my
longer lenses. That may be due to the fact that we're still in the
dead of winter here (Ottawa, Canada), and my winter images generally
tend to be more wide than long.

Last night I was playing in my camera bag, getting ready for a short
outing with the DS tonight, and I pulled the PZ-1 out. Haven't
touched it since I got the DS. Happened to have the F50/1.7 and the
1.7x on it (the cheap man's 85mm). Felt so good, I just had to take a
quick grab shot of my daughter. I can't part with this.
