wrong, eyeballs and brains are quite unlike camera's filmplanes.
Go look at the tops of some 3 story buildings from
ground level with your eyes. now look thru the finder
of a SLR with a 28mm lens. NOT EVEN CLOSE to natural view with SLR.
A shift lens view is much closer to what the eye perceives.
but not exactly the same either...

Perspective distortion is what shift lenses do.
Converging parallels and the like are how we see things naturally.
