viewing frames are not in nature so
your trying prove unshifted images as being more "natural"
by using an unnatural object and situation
to train your eyes. That simply isnt natural by any standards.

Try the same exercise with a viewing frame to give your eyes a 
reference.
After you have educated your eyes, everything changes.
