Don't have a basement. Have to splash in the bathroom.
But I found out today I need one of them there Digital SLR's. I put the red filter on and plumb forgot to open up 3 stops. If I had a digital I would not have made that mistake. Come to think of it, if I had a digital that mistake would not have cost me $2 ($6 if I sent it out). Besides that, that was the last of the 4x5 Plus-X. Oh well, there are other films I like better that are cheaper anyway. Those guys who think there is a profit in making B&W film get 1/3 what Kodak does for a box of film. Do you think Kodak might sell more if they did not feel the need to make a 500% profit on it?
Shot the last 6 sheets of Plus-X today. The one (mountain scenic) mentioned above. The same with proper exposure. The same again at f/8 instead of f/22. Three views of the old chapel at St Lukes. One from the right with drop and tilt. One from the center with rise. One from the left, no movements. I need to soup them soon then make contacts of them, and the 5 shots from GFM. All I need to do is feel like setting things up in the bathroom some evening after dark (not 100% light proof yet).
Then I can start using the J&C Classic 200 film (made by the company whose article I started this thread with) that came in the mail yesterday.
If I had used digital I would be done. That sounds good until you realise I am talking about a hobby. Hobbies are supposed to waste time. Give you time to relax. It is all about enjoyment. If you can not wait to get it over with, it is not a hobby!

I think there are something like 3 more steps in E-6, and another quarter hour of time. It isn't all that big a deal. The market now though has changed. The photo hobbiest now is plugging away at Photoshop, when he used to be in a room in the basement splashing paper around in trays of chemical.
