I don't really have an answer to this. I do know that if I bought a lens
that was so cloudy that I wouldn't think of making a comparison to a one I
already had, I would try to get my money back. I am in no position to offer
a comparison between these two lenses except third hand, which is that the F is
one of the best in that range Pentax ever made, second only to the FA 80-200 f2.8.
I do know that the results for the F 70-210 stand up well in comparison to the Vivitar
f/3.5 70-210 series 1 that I also own, but I wouldn't discard either based on optical
performance alone since they are very different beasts.
