I have 14 different lenses and 3 -- teleconverters in Pentax -- K mount. 10 of the lenses are AF (F, FA or FA*) and 4 MF (K, -- M and A). -- And 3 of the bodies I have are AF, but the one I will not sell in any -- circumstances is MF (MX). -- And I have been a Pentax user for 23 years, I have bought -- both used and -- new equipment (mostly new). Since the beginning of this year, I have -- bought a new AF lens, a used AF lens, and I have just purchased (this -- week) a new AF-360 FGZ flash. So it is not possible to cast -- all users in -- two categories, that is simplifying things too much. Many of us, like -- me, are somewhere in the middle. -- I think it would be a good selling point (at least for me) if I could -- use all of them on a Pentax DSLR, and not only the AF ones + the one -- with a KA mount. -- -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Carlos Royo -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Zaragoza (Aragon) - Spain -- I have 7 manual focus (K, M, A) prime lenses and 6 auto focus lenses (F, FA, Limited). I am just as prone to use either on an AF body. Of the six zooms only two are AF - one old style, and one non-A. I do not use them much at all though.
When I use the Nikon D1X or H at work, I tend to use mf even when using AF lenses. I have three AF bodies and 11 mf ones - the five LX are the ones used the most though. I am planning on getting DSLR because it fulfills my needs part of the time. I still see film as archival. I would be upset if a DSLR would not be able to use mf and non-A lenses. I have been known to use Super-Takumar 85/1.9 quite often on my K-mounts until I got the 77 Limited. I am happy to hear about the compatibility of the *ist D. It just alows me to pick the lens that best fits the need. Csar Panama City, Florida
