i will disagree with this new openGL engine. New osmand app 4.2 has increased the file size over 80%, probably and the battery consumption. It has also bugs and a few crashes. As we all have seen for over 20 years, PND or smartphones, for outdoor activities use 2D maps. If we choose city navigation.... YES, apps like sygic or tomtom use 3D maps.
That's why, i will suggest to osmand company to stop using 4.2 version and continue to improve the old 4.1 with features like the new settings from 4.2 version.
