Simón Rodríguez says: "There is no blockade now". What is the evidence to support this claim?
As far as I am aware, the US still forbids Venezuela from sending oil to China, Cuba and some other countries. I assume that if Venezuela tried to send oil to non-approved countries, the US navy would board the ships and steal the oil, as it did in December and January. I have not heard of any decision by the US to change this policy. This means that the naval blockade is still in effect. Some US ships have moved from the Caribbean to the Middle East, but I assume there are still enough ships in the Caribbean to enforce this policy. Should Delcy Rodríguez withdraw from this pact? In light of the fact that it violates Venezuelan sovereignty and the Venezuelan Constitution, she should at the very least say these obvious things. She should also have opened a democratic discussion before approving a new oil law and a new mining law to create even more favorable conditions for imperialist oil and mining companies. She should describe US actions as a violation of international law, the crime of aggression to be more specific. However I don't think anyone should have any illusions in that regard, as she is moving in the opposite direction. It's all very well to focus on past US actions, however the current situation should also be explained and criticized.
