You should actually do a little research into OS X. Then you'd see it blows OS 9 out of the water in everyway After using OS X on a consistent basis for the last year, I can't ever go back to OS 9.
Multiple Users, UNIX core, Pre-emptive multitasking, Protected memory, Quartz Extreme rendering, and now Expose and Filevault.
