The error message you're getting I have seen when I tried to use a backed-up 9.0 install disk (pesky users physically cracking CDs! Grrr....). You may find you have more luck if you identify where in the install process it's dying, instead doing a custom installation and skipping that portion of the install (Whatever it's referencing in the "Installing xxxx......").
