It shoed the signal was very low, less than .6 db and as a result very slow download speeds etc. After many fits and starts they laid a temporary line into another post and put a bandwith splitter that favoured the internet connection. The combination proved perfect and now I get speeds close to 900Mbs which is rated as exceptional for Cable connections. I also found that deleting dns server references worked more reliably than having one listed in my internet TCP setup. My understanding is that the service server is DHCP so doesent require a dns adress in the local set up. If the dns server you are using goes down and the back up server is not named you may not get to the adress you are trying. Having none stated means that you will get whatever server the current DHCP server is using instead of searching for the address on the that you specified before looking further.
