I assume this is about Citibank. Is there some reason to avoid naming
them? There must be 100s of us with the same issue.

I think you misunderstood what I meant to say. I would not bank over
http either.
While mapping the account via KMM, which I think uses the settings on
ofxhome.com, the URL is https. I don't think there is any chance this
bank would allow http connections. This is a major bank in the US.
When I look at my kmy file, the URL is https.
The only thing that has http (without the s) is the error message when
I try to access my bank or if I try to map online banking again.
So everything is http except the URL in the error message.
Is all of the text in the error message coming from the bank or is KMM
generating the error based on error codes? I don't see anything in the
source code so I don't think it's coming from KMM. Could it be coming
from libofx if not the bank?
I'm really hoping this is not a bank problem because I'll probably
never get them to fix it. I'm starting to lose hope though.
I have another bank with 2 savings accounts. In one the OFX file has
positive numbers for interest earned. In the other the interest is
negative. I have to run a command on the OFX file before I import it
or the interest goes into the Payment column instead of the Deposit
column. I have made many phone calls an barely got the last person to
understand the difference between plus and minus. Once they did they
said they would take care of it. Many months later....
The text of the error message is:
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access
"http://www.Bank2.com/cards/xxxx/Bank2.do" on this server.

Not surprisingly I got nowhere talking to tech support at the Bank2. I
don't think anyone answering the phones knows anything about direct
connect. "Can you logon to our website" and "reinstall your personal
finance software" is about all they could suggest.
I am not surprised by that.
One thing I noticed is that the error message says http while the url
used by ofx is https. Is KMM or libofx ignoring the http(s) part of
the online banking setting?
From what I see at a glance, it should not, but using http with a banking
connection is not what you want. I would not want to make business with such a
bank.
Another possible complication is that the domain they use is
redirected to their main domain name. My user name a password work on
the website. I've tried various changes to the ofx url but none of
them worked.
The error on Bank2 is the same no matter what I type into the username
and password fields.
This is annoying because it's a credit card and I like to import every
day or two so that their aren't any surprises.
