Please see > https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development#One-time_setup: > _your_development_environment. Well, compiling is not easy - took me two days interminently hunting for outside-of-KDE dependencies, I only stumbled at this too late: https://www.hanyoung.uk/blog/kdesrc-build-on-ubuntu/ (and in the four months since that was written already caused that several other packages are needed). But anyway, I suceeded and I have been using the patch for a few days now. At first I was confused that my icons dissappeared, then I noticed scrollbars (isn't this what caused Nick's icon to dissappear? It took me two days to notice the scrollbars). I then manually re-arranged the icons to be visible on the desktop and it has been smooth since. So I think it is deffinitelly an improvement over the old behaviour, when icons would just be placed in random. So I would merge this as is. However, for the future, I think it would be good to get rid of the scrollbars. My idea would be that when going from a larger resolution to a smaller, a saved state for that resolution would kick in. Then, if there are any icons that are not visible, these (and only these) icons would get re-arranged. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
