I don't really have any experience with this query parser nor any opinion about which behavior is correct. I'll say the argument in the issue description makes some sense, but this will be a breaking change. For anyone that depends on the current behavior, is there a way to maintain that? Or are we totally sure that the new behavior is "correct" and nobody could possibly want the old "broken" behavior? People do come to depend on things without realizing it ... all this to say, maybe we shouldn't backport, but keep this change on main only. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
