Yeah, that would be preferable to a bunch of versioned code that essentially all reads the same format. I suppose I was thinking of using the config for "what is the minimum version I can read" over "what version was this written with" because my immediate thought was you are lying about the version with the latter - but you would of course just consider it the index format version it was written with rather than the actual Lucene version. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
