Thanks [~mikemccand] for having a look at the PR! I think we can also backport
this to 8.9, so I went ahead and worked up a
[PR|https://github.com/apache/lucene-solr/pull/2497] for that, along with one
more [PR|https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/145] for moving the CHANGES
entry in the apache/lucene repo.
