This ticket is not for #1 . They can peacefully happily use Solr without 
thinking that this feature exists. 
 Is there anything in this ticket that suggests we are sacrificing the 
usability for #2 in favor of #3 ? OTOH what I was trying to say is that we 
shouldn't assume that an overwhelming majority of users belong to #2 based on a 
sample survey and we have no other data to go by and make life easy for #2, #3 
and #4
