Although some users will need to adjust to using a different code for their language, I think “long-term” it would be a good idea to change these. After a lot of consideration, I think PB makes the most sense when limiting Brazilian Portuguese to only two characters. It is not used by any other language in the ISO language codes. Nor is it used by any country codes. Also unlike other possibilities, when sorting by code, it will be near PT.
