Brazilian living in Portugal here:
ptBR and ptPT are pretty much the same language, with differences that
boil down to the same difference between enUS and enGB:
some meanings "arquivo" vs "ficheiro" (file) as well as some spelling
"ativo" vs "activo".

>From my interaction with coworkers, they're very much used to the more
popular (to the chagrin of some) ptBR in computer lingo - to the
extent that I've seen some Portuguese say "ponteiro" instead of
"apontador" (pointer, as in C).
