That's what I meant by power options, except suspend to ram. I believe suspend to disk would be hibernate. Initially after install, everything was grayed out except log off, reboot, and power off, so I had to log out to lightdm and suspend my computer from there. So I finally issued the following command:
sudo chmod 4755 /usr/lib/enlightenment/utils/enlightenment_sys And logged out and back in. After that, nothing was grayed out - however selecting the option to suspend resulted in a black screen with a movable cursor and a computer that was still chugging away. I had to drop into a console, kill a bunch of stuff and then bring lightdm back up. Since that was a bit of a disaster, I have since been issuing the command " sudo pm-suspend" in a terminal and the system suspends just fine - thankfully. I have Googled endlessly about this issue and it seems a lot of people are having the exact same problem with E18. From what I have found, Rasterman is aware of the issue and a bug report was filed about a month ago. I haven't compiled 18.3 yet, but I did not see this on the list of bug fixes. BTW - no more system instability issues. If you have any further input on the issue it would be welcome.
