i use ubuntu. it works just fine. and i work on e and efl's code :)the problem
is between you and x (for gdm) - e does do its job pretty well imho :)

for e it was easiest to use real files. patches accepted to do it the hard
way. :) e doesnt stop gnome or kde from working. it leaves some unwanted files
around.
