Sylpheed hung, I tried to close it, then kill it, then I kill -9'd it. ps
showed that it was no longer running, but unfortunately e16 still saw it.
I could still move the dead window around, eesh still showed it in the wl
command, etc.

Restarting E (ctrl-alt-end) cleared it away though.

Should be fixed now.

Thanks, it is fixed in my latest build: Enlightenment Version : enlightenment-0.16.8
code is current to : $Date: 2004/12/29 00:15:31 $

What exactly does composite do? I haven't seen much difference with it on
or off.

"Real" window transparency, shadows 'n stuff. To see any difference you
would have to use xorg 6.8.x with Composite extension enabled.

Ah, I didn't have composite enabled in xorg.conf. I'll give it a try.

Note minor quirk I noticed after installing the new build is my icon box
initially cut off the left-side of the first icon. I closed the iconbox and
created a new one. Haven't seen the problem since. Maybe a stale cache
setting?

Thanks,
Brad

trick question, how/where do you enable composite in xorg.conf?
probably belongs in an xorg list, but I'm not subscribed to those...
Thanks
John
