Try "eesh set compmgr.mode 1".
If e16 is started when the X-server has composite disabled the mode will
be set 0 meaning that the composite stuff is turned off entirely.
Got to fix that...

Yes. Default branch, head, trunk - all the same thing for the e16 CVS.
