Its harder to jury rig a Type III battery to use replaceable cells
because the cells are laid out differently from a type I, but you can
remove the cells in a busted Type III and attach a wire going to a
camcorder (or whatever) battery holder placed in the back panel of a
wetsuit.

This opens up the possibility of using 10 "D" NiMH cells or 10 "C" NiMH
cells for really long useage times.

Note that the Duo will expect to see a NiMH 12V battery pack. Any other
kind of battery pack attached in that manner will confuse the power
manager or even permanently damage your Duo.

Another way is to get a 12V car adaptor for a Duo and attach a small
portable (size depending on how strong your back is) lead acid battery.
Don't attach the 12V lead acid battery through a hacked battery pack
though.

Best Regards,

Alex Timbol
