I believe this is the mapping:

LogWriter                 Log4J2
---------------------------------------
SEVERE                = FATAL
ERROR                 = ERROR
WARNING             = WARN
INFO, CONFIG      = INFO
FINE                      = DEBUG
FINER, FINEST     = TRACE

We do have a lot of code that still uses the LogWriter.
