So i understand that the 6 firmware packages with "b43" in "netinst" which aren't in "Live" are not essential for the original question in this thread. There only remains a version difference with /firmware/firmware-zd1211_1%3a1.5-13_all.deb versus /firmware/firmware-zd1211_1.5-13_all.deb Elsewise the firmware collection on "Live" is a slightly larger superset of the one on "netinst". There seems to be some firmware for sound in "Live". I guess that all other needs for firmware are covered by the statement in https://www.debian.org/releases/trixie/amd64/ch03s03.en.html 3.3.3.1. Testing hardware compatibility with a Live-System which says "Such non-free packages can of course be installed manually within the system, but there is no automatic detection of required firmware files like in the debian-installer, so installation of non-free components must be done manually if needed." I downloaded the first 100 MB of debian-live-13.2.0-amd64-xfce.iso and debian-live-13.2.0-amd64-standard.iso for comparison. (That's enough to read the directory trees.) No differences to see in their /firmware directories. So no extra graphics firmware in the XFCE "Live" versus the server "Live". Have a nice day :) Thomas
