Inversely this also means that potential mentors should be on that list. Adding more places to track isn't necessarily useful and in worst case counterproductive for both mentors and mentees.


I don't think this is mutually exclusive - being on mentors list means you are open to all kinds of newbie questions, anyone interested in any team you have to respond. But listing here means only people interested in your team will contact you. I can understand trying to consolidate, but overwhelming newbies or mentors cannot solve this problem.
