I checked the three possible cinnamon configurations under two debian
versions.
Debian 13 (Trixie)
Login selection:
Cinnamon
cinnamon desktop (bluish) appears and inputs (mouse clicks and
keyboard) are not accepeted after a few minutes. Pointer does
track the mouse. System accepts inputs from ssh from other term.
Cinnamon (Software rendering)
screen is everywher black, only the pointer appears. No
response to mouse clicks or keyboard.
Cinnamon on Wyland (Experimental)
screen is black except for task bar at bottom of screen where
usual cinnmon icons (softaware, file cabinet, terminal on lhs
other icons and time display on rhs. cinnamon oerates in text
mode only
Debian 14 (Testing)
Login selection:
Cinnamon

Cinnamon (Software rendering)
System works well both text and graphics work.
Cinnamon on Wyland (Experimental)

For now I will continue with Cinnamon (Software rendering) on Testing. If
