Thanks for your report -

First and foremost. Please don't mix stable with testing/unstable. You
are running geeqie from testing/unstable, but on Debian 12 - this is
not supported. Geeqie 1:2.4-2+b2 is built against the packages in
testing/unstable, so I don't know if it would work on stable or not.

If you want to run geeqie 2.4 on stable, build it yourself, but then
don't report the bugs on the Debian BTS, because you are running stuff
that isn't from Debian.

I'm inclined to simply close this report, just because of this, but in
this case the cause of the problem COULD simply be that it seems to
look for the plugins in the wrong place.

Where do you have that org.darktable.darktable.desktop file? is it in
/usr/share/geeqie/applications or in /usr/local/share/geeqie/applications -
which would in it's turn imply that you have mixed also Debian packages
with a locally built geeqie. (Which is _another_ source of problems
that you can run into).
