Sorry about that - I did a group (g) reply from mutt and I neglected to
check the Cc: header carefully.  I will be more careful in the future.

If you say so, then I trust you that rsync uses multiple processes for
purely local transfers.  I had read in the rsync(1) man page that rsync
does optimizations for local transfers - sorry for the ass-umption on my
part.
