Hello you guys know me as Cinmay in the community. I am working for a small multimedia company in Bergen city, Norway.
We are thinking about making an mmorpg. Currently we are working on a prototype/test project. The purpose is to show management and the investors that we are capable of making something that moves. As all investors they respond to movement, colors and shiny things ;) We will not launch this project if we don't get enough money from our investors. I want to make it a serious project with realistic targets. We are not aiming for “world of warcraft” but more in the mid range. The first draft for the story, setting and art concept is ready but I can't shear it with you yet. Sorry :( I would like your input. I know it is very difficult to give input when you don't know anything about the concept and features of the game but I am only looking for a rough estimate. A number to give to our investors to give them an idea about what the cost might be without doing a pre project, That comes later. We will use Crystalspace and Blender to develop the game. I purposely didn't include any $ numbers. I am sorry but I can't give to many details away this early in the project. We have a small development department in India and have some experience working with them. So far this is what I believe is the people we will need: People: Norway Project leader 1 Art director 1 Lead Graphics designer 1 (Must be experienced with blender) Lead Programmer 1 (Must be experienced with cs) Game writers 2 Quality assurance 1 Server setup and maintenance 1 Total 8 India Coordinator 1 (a person from Norway who will handle communication) Office administrator 1 Programmers 5 (inexperienced) Graphics designers 8 (inexperienced) Total 14 A huge problem is getting experience people in India so they will have to be trained. Project total 22 This is the best we can hope for. We will probably not get enough money to afford all thees people.
