Some projects put a watermark over it others have the warning and some do it this way by having different versions. There are always going to be completely different procedures from development and release documentation I don't see a reason why we need to have references to '7' anywhere and URLs that will never work. Why would development docs talk about local caching and downloading files from the FTP that will never exist? As for using the VERSION file I can do that later can you open an issue for it?
