Yes, I am still using the error checks per the examples. When I run as root 
I get a bus error, otherwise the error message is:

constructor failed (cannot open /dev/uio5)

Maybe the number of samples is a secondary issue, because I cannot even run 
any of the examples, e.g. 1 returns a segmentation fault.
