There are all sorts of rules around employee vs contractor....if you treat
them as an employee, they become employees in the eyes of the law, with
certain rights and such...depending on the state...usually a contractor
will be 1099, where as an employee, even in an at-will state will typically
get W2 and health benefits, 401K, etc....so there ARE benefits to employee,
even in at-will states.
