I thought this was a serious developer web site?  Try googling  
"Employee-at-Will" states.  You might be surprised that you belong to one 
yourself.

Sometimes it is deliberate, happens a couple of times a year.

It is only when they say "don't tell my boss, they don't know I am looking for 
a new job" that one has to wonder about their attention to detail :)

While we are on that topic, can someone tell me what "employee-at-will" is?

Does this mean a full time employee of the contracting company without any 
employee benefits or notice of being let go; so the contractor has the worst of 
all worlds: Lower pay as an employee and no protection or benefits?
