Joe,

Is the format really different? We have upgraded a couple of
non-production servers to 7.1 and did not purge licenses beforehand.
When looking at the license information after the upgrade the only
license that had a key was the server. All other entries just had
quantities. I did not purge the licenses because there was no change of
hardware. I assume that Remedy took the data in the license file and
made entries in the license form. Is my thinking incorrect?

Thanks,

7.1 license format is different from 7.0 so yes a purge is in order
while considering an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1.

When upgrading from 7.0.1 to 7.1 is it necessary to purge the licenses
on the server before you begin the upgrade? If this is done, will the
upgrade pick up the correct information for the all the licenses on the
server?
