Hi Amar, Lovely this side from RSKC. Thanks for this message; I have incidents to report that we faced during our journeys in RSKC.
Sharing key issues observed during air travel for visually impaired passengers: - After disclosing a disability, web check-in is often not permitted. This removes seat choice and forces unnecessary dependency at the airport. (Even travel insurance gets denied without explanation) - In multiple instances, two visually impaired passengers are not allowed to sit together, even when they are comfortable managing independently. This creates avoidable anxiety and reflects incorrect assumptions about capability. - Assistance services show significant delays, especially for international travel. Passengers are often left waiting without clear timelines or coordination. - At Delhi airport immigration, there have been instances of dismissive or insensitive communication, with little effort to provide clear guidance. - During security checks, instructions are not consistently adapted, leading to confusion and discomfort. - Overall, the experience is inconsistent and depends heavily on individual staff behaviour rather than a standardized, accessible system. *These are not isolated incidents. They indicate systemic gaps in how accessibility is currently implemented in air travel.* On Tue, 17 Mar 2026 at 13:45, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi All, > > Have you come across instances, where after disclosing your disability > web-checkin was not allowed. > > Have you faced instances with regard to security check-in?
