Chowno: Just because your system froze again, it doesn't mean that your power management solution didn't work. I am suffering from another bug where power management will constantly re-enable itself. You'll see this by running "xset -q" and it will show dpms as enabled, even though you disabled it. I recommend looking at that before discounting your own solution.
