No, it was before Gutsy.  To me, it happened after some upgrade in Edgy.

My motherboard has most probably USB 1 ports.  When I had the problem in
Edgy, I had to remove the ehci_hcd module to solve it.  Now with Gutsy
ehci_hcd is not loaded any more, and everything works.  Even If I load
ehci_hcd by hand everything keeps working.
