I'm horrified by this bug. Lots of talk yet it still hasn't been fixed! The steps outlined in comment #41 seem easy to do and reasonable. Meanwhile the 535 driver got similarly transitioned to a newer version, and is also causing problems for people.
Meanwhile I upgraded to Ubuntu 26.04 and am using https://github.com/joanbm/nvidia-470xx-linux-mainline to allow the 470 driver to work with version 7.0.0 of the Linux kernel. It's no worse than it was in 24.04 when it was officially supported. So, Ubuntu could have made the 470 driver available in 26.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155202 Title: Latest Update Breaks Systems Using Nvidia 470 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-470/+bug/2155202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
